LEARNING ENGLISH WITH SONG ANALYSIS



Today I have been listening to songs in English without subtitles to see if I understood the meaning of the lyrics. The songs I have heard have been: Can't fight the Moonlight which is from the Bar Coyote movie, Strong Enough by Cher and then I have started listening to old songs like It's my life by Bon Jovi, Everything I do by Bryan Adams , among other.

After listening to the songs, as there were several phrases that I did not understand, I have put the songs with the subtitles to know what words they were about. But to make it easier, what I have done has been to write the lyrics of the songs on paper, underlining the words or phrases that I did not understand, I have looked for their meaning in the translator and thus I have been able to better understand the general meaning of the songs. Finally, I have listened to the pronunciation of the words and have started to sing the songs following the lyrics to practice and improve my pronunciation in English.

CONFERENCES IN ENGLISH

This afternoon I visited the website of  https://www.ted.com/talks?sort=newest&language=en and I have been watching different conferences. It is interesting because it is an entertaining way to learn English, you practice listening comprehension and you also learn new knowledge about different topics. It is also a way to acquire new vocabulary and look at how the sentences are made to learn how the structure is. For me it is a good experience that I encourage you to do. You can look for topics that you like and thus you will pay more attention because it will be interesting to you and you will be able to learn English much better. I have also looked for lectures with English subtitles to make it easier to understand what they are saying. CARTOONS TO LEARN BASIC STRUCTURES OF ENGLISH

  Today I have decided to watch cartoons in English because I think it is an easier way to get used to hearing English and to understand what the characters are saying. I think that I should start with the most basic and as I understand it, I will increase the level of the conversations. Cartoons are an entertaining way to learn English, you can learn many expressions that are said every day. Being simple and short sentences I can focus more on the pronunciation of words and I can gradually acquire the grammatical structures of the sentences, I can learn them better.
