A ZOOM VIDEO CALL!
Today in the afternoon my partner Jordi and I made a video call on Zoom to practice English. First we have been talking for a while to get to know each other better. Then we have read a text in English. Each of us read a paragraph and then translated it between the two of us. There were words that we did not understand and we have searched for them in Google Translator and we have written them down in the notebook along with their translation into Spanish. At the end of each text there were some questions to answer to practice reading comprehension and memory. Then we have encouraged ourselves and we have read another text and we have also answered the questions.
When we have finished, we have discussed aspects of English that are difficult for us and we have given each other tips to learn the language better. Tomorrow he is going to start watching the Friends series and he will tell me if it is difficult to understand or not and if it is not I will try to start watching it. I think that practicing English with a partner is a more fun and entertaining way to learn and that together we can help each other and learn from each other. At the time of reading we have corrected the pronunciation of some words and we have looked for them in Youglish, a website that teaches you to pronounce words correctly.
Jordi and I have decided to make a video call every week because that way we will improve our English learning together.
We have encouraged ourselves, and you? It is a good opportunity to learn!
Below I share the web link of the texts and also of Youglish.
